jack and jill raffle baskets?
Ok I am having a jack and jill instead of the regular bridal shower. I want to have some raffle baskets but dont know what i should get... I am looking at 5 different baskets. Any suggestions on what people might like. or even buy tickets for . we are having the bridal party sell tickets for the event. We are already are providing food of course, beer, soda, and lots of fun.
ok so to clarify things... were I am from a jack and jill is very common and to charge for a ticket is even more common. but when people go to a jack and jill they do not but gifts at all the gift is the admission ticket. hence why we are having it instead of a bridal shower.
also all the baskets will be on a table with a bag in the front, you buy the tickets and put them in the items you wish to try to win. We opted for a jack and jill because we have lived together 4 yrs already and do not need anything for the house.
I agree with those ideas suggested by Perks, but would add a movie theater basket (with gift certificates to a local theater, classic movie theater candy, popcorn, etc.) and maybe something like a summer picnic or grilling basket? For grilling you could put utensils for the grill, a unique bbq sauce or special meat rub, gift certificate to the local grocery chain, etc. For the picnic basket you could actually put it in a picnic basket, add wine, cheese, baguettes, grapes (or grocery gift certificates). In either one you could also add a cute summer theme blanket or table cloth (maybe classic gingham?) Sounds fun!
I've never attended a jack and jill shower so maybe I'm just grossly misinformed, but if I were coming to your shower with a present (and also presumably your wedding with a present) I would probably not be that psyched to spend additional money to buy raffle tickets once I got to the shower. Also, if you have 5 different options on baskets you might end up spending more on the baskets than you make back in tickets, so just be aware of that as you plan your event. Could you do it in silent auction format so that people could bid what they want? Just suggestions, you know your friends so I'm sure it will go off without a hitch!
