What is a drawstring pouch and how it works:
One of the best pouches to hold your delicate jewelry is the velvet drawstring pouch. This is because you are sure your valuables will not fall out of it; and in the meantime, the drawstring pouch is very attractive to look at.
Not only can you store your jewelry in drawstring pouches, you can also hold small gifts, odds and ends like your favorite tumbled stones and even small change. The drawstring pouch is available in various sizes; it is up to you to decide on the best pouch depending on what you intend to store in it.
What to look for while buying a drawstring pouch:
Though drawstring pouches are generally made from cloth or velvet, there are now pouches made from neoprene, a material that is used for protection to scuba divers from the harsh sea. The advantage of this drawstring pouch is that it is soft, and stretches so that there is a custom fit around whatever it holds. Moreover it has the right thickness to absorb the shock of everyday falls and bumping around.
As it offers low surface friction, it is easy to slide and stretch over equipment, is scratch resistant and quick to remove. As it sheds water like a duck, the neoprene drawstring pouch is excellent for outdoor use. And as the pouch is lightweight, you can store it in your bag, when not in use.
What to avoid in drawstring pouches:
You have to buy your drawstring pouch according to the use it is intended for. If you intend to go outdoors with the pouch, there is no point in buying velvet or cloth drawstring pouch as it will only end up wet. Moreover, it is not advisable to buy a neoprene drawstring pouch to store jewelry as neoprene may bring scratches to your jewelry.
