Can I wash a Satin Evening Dress?
I have been given a Satin Evening dress and it needs a light washing. I would like to put it into the washing machine and give it a light tumbling and then hang it. Has anyone any experience with washing a golden yellow satin. Just gave the colour for a reference.
Unless there was a care tag indicating it's ok to wash & tumble - I'd bite the bullet & take it to the cleaners & let them hassle with it. It's not so much how much you paid for it, but if you needed to replace it or buy an evening dress, it would cost a lot more than one cleaning. Not only that, if you plan to store it, they can get it ready for that, too.
