are there any signs that full metal alchemist will lead off from the first series's ending?
well im hoping to see a sequal of FMA that takes off from the ending of the first series..... are there any signs that this will eventually come? and yes im aware of FMA brotherhood...coming out but i heard its basicly a remake following in the tracks of the manga...
note: i havent read the manga..
There already was a continuation to the first series.
The movie, FMA: The Conqueror of Shamballa is the direct continuation/true ending.
There's also the Premium OVA Collection which is a bunch of fun shorts meant to be watched after the movie.
Brotherhood isn't really much of a remake...
The first anime hardly followed the manga at all(which hasn't even ended yet) since there wasn't much out when it was made.
The first anime basically just took the characters and a few stories from the first few volumes and loosely fit them into its own story.
So, the only episodes of Brotherhood that contained some material that had already been loosely adapted into the first series were the first 13 or so. After that, it's 100% different.
(and even up to that point it had some significant differences)
The gate's different, the way homunculi are created is different, there are more characters, etc.
