My gold ring?
On my right wedding finger, I have been wearing an 18K 37 gm gold ring for almost two years. These last several months have been complete agony for my knuckle. It is extremely painful when I close or stretch it back. Do I have arthritis or am I allergic to gold? In addition, it swivels with ease, and it is not to small or tight.
Sound's like it's something else. When you have an allergic reaction to a metal there is a rash where the metal touches the skin, in this case you would have a red rash around the finger where the ring sits, moisture between the ring and the skin can cause this, as can dirt (even microscopic), an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner works best. You can coat the underside of the ring with clear nail polish to prevent an allergic rash. I do find it interesting that you have a "right wedding finger". Most people have a left and right "ring finger" and wear a wedding band on the "left ring finger".
