How can I improve my vertical leap?
I'm a 15 year old 6'1" white male. I play basketball and right now I can just dunk a basketball on a full-size hoop (barely). Does anyone know ways to improve jumping ability?
Hello, I would like to share with you a couple tips I learned a few weeks ago:
1) Leg exercises
These exercises can be done even outside the gym. These exercises can be very simple and can be performed even if you are just standing in the bus terminal, waiting for the next ride.
a. Stand firmly on the ground. Then stand on your toes, down to the ground, and do the procedure repeatedly.
b. Jump up and down. It does not necessarily be higher.
c. Jog round if you have time. Jogging is not just a good leg exercise but also an effective cardiovascular activity.
d. Jump using a jumping rope.
e. Stretch your leg muscles every now and then. It does not only relaxes you but also improve the circulation in that muscle group.
2) Wear the best shoes when playing the game. Sounds almost stupid but I've seen many people missing this simple point!
3) Join a good jumping program. I can recommend you one that I found really, really, really useful. I will try to post a link.. I'm not very tech savvy.
