Tulips are another instantly recognisable flower, well known for their exquisite shapes and variety of colours. When combined with hyacinths tulips can make a distinctive and captivating display. A common combination of colour is pale pinky red tulips mixed with vibrant purple hyacinths.

Tulips look perfect with a mix of different colours arranged in a bouquet. Each colour has its own unique meaning and symbolism, similar to roses. However tulips sometimes have a more personal touch than roses, as roses are becoming a somewhat standard gift.

If you do choose to use roses make sure they are striking and different, using an unconventional shade or variety to bring your own personal flare. This is surprisingly easy now due to being able to order flowers online.

Online florists often have pages and pages of varieties and colourations, while most local florists will only have more standard varieties, and supermarkets maybe one or two!
