I always wondered what it would be like to
be swallowed by the sea,
where childhood fancies dissolve
like the water's mist,
and I blindly wander with one hand
splayed like a starfish,
where dreams are sealed up
like ships in a glass bottle
and placed in the heart
of this green opacity,
rhythmically jostled around and hidden
in the deepest sand bar of the sea's
most profound depth;
a pearl enclosed in the clams clenched
purple lips.
Where at any moment the diver
may unearth it in the most
serious of ocean tempests.
