wedding veil over the bun?
Okay, my mom is making my wedding veil andI don't know what to do. I will have my face covered with a blusher when I walk down the aisle that my dad will turn back as he kisses my cheek to give me away. So, do I put the blusher behind my bun of hair with the other viel so that it covers my bun when I walk down the aisle?
Or, do I pin the long veil behind my bun and short veil in front of my bun as I walk down the aisle so that when my dad turns it back it then covers my bun? Would that look weird as I walk down with my bun sticking out between the veils uncovered?
Does that make any sense at all?!!
I would have them both under or both over the bun. Either way would probably work out fine. It depends on where the bun is, and what kind it is, too. If you have a low, simple bun that is at the nape of the neck, you want to definately go above the bun. If it's at the crown of your head, as long as it's not a really elaborate bun, it would probably look okay pinned underneath. If it's somewhere in the middle, use your best judgement. Just try it both ways (BEFORE the wedding day).
You're right, it would look odd to see an uncovered bun between two veils.
I think the most common (what I did) is to have it over the bun, with the blusher over your face and the veil starting right above the bun and going over it. Then you would put the blusher back over it so that both of them cover the bun.
And I think the dad usually replaces the blusher after the kiss, and the groom lifts it for good when he kisses you at the end of the ceremony.
