How long is your veil & what does it look like?
My mother was horrified to find out I have already bought "ONLY" a fingertip length veil and not some gigantic one that goes down to the floor and is covered in lace (is it any wonder why I *HATE* clueing my mom into my plans?).
I thought the fingertip length was rather long. I also bought one that has a band of white satin ribbon along the edge and no extra stuff. My dress has tons of red embroidery on it and my cousin (who is great with dresses) said anything very fancy would take away from my dress - which I don't want!
of course I'm now second-guessing my veil choice because my mother has stated she doesn't like the length OR style of the veil I chose.
SO, I'm wondering how long your veil was and what style it is.

I'm having a finger-tip veil. That's on the advice of my mother who used to make and sell wedding gowns, so I think that is a reliable source. I didn't want a veil at first, but then I tried a few on at the length my mom suggested (not the supper long fancy trimmed ones) and it actually looks really good.
Get what you want, I think it looks great. You're right about the dress, that should be the show stopper, not the veil!
